Eurofins Introduces Complete Article Formaldehyde Emission Testing for EU REACH Entry 77
With the EU REACH Entry 77 enforcement date of 6 August 2026 approaching, Eurofins Softlines & Hardlines Vietnam is introducing a dedicated formaldehyde emission testing service designed to support manufacturers, brands, retailers and sourcing organisations preparing for the new regulatory requirements.
Developed specifically around the requirements of REACH Annex XVII Appendix 14, the service enables manufacturers to evaluate the formaldehyde emission performance of complete furniture and indoor consumer articles under controlled environmental conditions aligned with the Regulation.
Responding to a changing regulatory landscape
The introduction of Regulation (EU) 2023/1464 marked a significant development in formaldehyde compliance within the European Union. By adding Entry 77 to REACH Annex XVII, the European Commission established harmonised formaldehyde emission limits for furniture, wood based articles and other indoor products placed on the EU market.
