Defended EIA report for Waste Treatment Plant Project

In April, ETM successfully defended the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Report for the Bãi Bồn Waste Treatment Plant Complex Project before the provincial-level Appraising Committee of An Giang.
This marks an important milestone in the environmental licensing process and serves as a key basis for the authorities’ consideration of issuing the Environmental Permit for the project.

A Key Environmental Infrastructure Project in Preparation for APEC 2027

The Bãi Bồn Waste Treatment Plant Project is being implemented in An Giang (Phú Quốc area) to enhance solid waste treatment capacity and improve environmental infrastructure on the island.

The project plays a significant role in the preparation for the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Forum 2027, contributing to:

  • Improved environmental hygiene and waste management capacity
  • Mitigation of environmental pressure caused by population growth and tourism activities
  • Compliance with sustainable socio-economic development objectives
  • Enhancing the image of Phú Quốc as a green, clean and sustainable tourist destination

Bãi Bồn Waste Treatment Plant – A Long-term Solution to Waste Management Challenges

The investment in the Bãi Bồn waste treatment complex is expected to:

  • Increase the capacity and efficiency of municipal solid waste treatment
  • Minimize risks of soil, water and air pollution
  • Ensure compliance with current environmental regulations
  • Balance infrastructure development, tourism growth and environmental protection
