Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) Monitoring project at industrial office
At Eurofins, we provide professional indoor air quality (IAQ) monitoring services aligned with international occupational safety standards and green building criteria. In a recent IAQ project conducted at an office located within an industrial zone, we performed comprehensive measurements of key air quality indicators to assess environmental safety and ventilation efficiency.
Monitored Parameters
- Gaseous pollutants: CO₂, Formaldehyde (HCHO), Total Volatile Organic Compounds (TVOCs), Ammonia (NH₃), Hydrogen Sulfide (H₂S)
- Particulate matter: PM2.5, PM10
- Microbiological contaminants: Total surface bacterial count
Methodology & Equipment
- Sampling and analysis conducted using calibrated instruments and ISO/IEC 17025-accredited laboratory methods
- On-site sampling completed within one day, followed by laboratory analysis over three days
- Standards applied:
- Vietnam Ministry of Health guidelines
- Singapore Standard SS 554:2016
- NIOSH and EN TO analytical methods
Survey Findings
- Initial assessment: Most parameters were within acceptable limits based on Vietnamese and Singaporean standards. However, elevated NH₃ concentrations were detected in the meeting room. Upon investigation and consultation with the client, the likely cause was identified as infrequent operation of the ventilation system and shared return air ducts with adjacent restrooms.
- Follow-up assessment: After upgrading the ventilation system and separating the return air ducts, all measured parameters fell within permissible thresholds. The client reported a noticeable improvement in air quality, particularly in the meeting room.
