Regulations on testing imported food will be based on current legal documents on food safety, which are:
- Food safety law No. 55/2010/QH12 dated June 17, 2010.
- Decree 38/2012/ND-CP dated April 25, 2012 – Detailing the implementation of a number of articles of the Law on Food Safety.
- Circular 19/2012/TT-BYT dated November 9, 2012 – Guiding the announcement of regulation conformity and announcement of conformity with food safety regulations.
Regulations on testing imported food will be implemented through the Food Safety Department - Ministry of Health by submitting paper documents directly or by post to the Food Safety Department.
Announcement on testing of imported food will be applied in 2 forms: Announcement of regulation conformity and announcement of conformity based on Article 3, Decree 38/2012/ND-CP, according to which:
Pre-packaged processed foods; Food Additives; food processing aids; Tools and materials for packaging and containing food (hereinafter referred to as products) that have technical regulations must be announced regulation conformity and registered with the competent state agency before when put on the market.
